The fourth edition of the International Urban Interventions Forum (FIIU) will bring together urban experts, policymakers, citizens, collectives, and international networks of activists interested in reclaiming public space and its use. Furthermore, this year, FIIU will host the 3rd Placemaking Latinoamérica meeting, a global movement that has been bringing together professionals and activists from Latin American countries for two years.

100En1Día is an international, non-profit, and independent citizen movement that promotes civic participation through a massive festival of urban interventions.

In this new edition of 'Architectural Tour,' we will visit the Central Jungle of Peru (San Martín de Pangoa) to explore seven significant educational projects alongside Semillas, the architectural firm behind the designs.

As part of the "Diálogos Arq" lecture series, the Architecture program's Critique Club at the University of Piura (UDEP) is hosting a lecture by Swiss architect Markus Breitschmid. Aimed at architecture students, architects, and the general public, the event will feature the guest speaker discussing his recent book, "Non-Referential Architecture." The International Biennial of Adventist Academic Architecture (BIAAA) is a non-profit event held every two years in a different country belonging to the Adventist Architecture Schools Network. The BIAAA began in 2017 as a joint effort between the schools of architecture at Montemorelos University (Mexico), Peruvian Union University (Peru), the Adventist University Center of São Paulo (Brazil), Andrews University (United States), and Sahmyook University (South Korea). The main purpose of the BIAAA is to bring together designers, professors, and students to engage with and reinterpret the design process, considering service to society as an essential principle. Consequently, the importance of the BIAAA lies in its role as a space to discuss the challenges and opportunities of social architecture and its impact on the community.

“To make is to think”—a phrase we have taken from Richard Sennett’s book The Craftsman—summarizes our working system across the various projects developed for this exhibition. Architecture takes time; constructing a project can take years. It is these almost infinite moments that allow the architect to rethink their work, evolve it, sometimes contradict it, and at other times, perfect it. When we speak of architecture and ask ourselves what it is, we can recall the words of one of the great masters, Mies van der Rohe, who reminds us that “Architecture starts when you put together two bricks, carefully.” In other words, architecture begins with placing one brick next to another, but the detail lies in doing so with care.

RED ARQUITECTURA invites you to participate in the international seminar 'Lessons in Architecture and the City | Exemplary Practices in Peru and Latin America'.

From March 5 to 9, 2019, the second BAMBOO EXPERIENCE CAMP workshop will take place in Azpitia, an hour from Lima. This construction workshop is organized by Bamboo Green Cities as a social collaboration project that combines technical training in bamboo construction with community-focused goals, serving as a tool for change. On this occasion, Azpitia, in the Mala Valley, invites us to highlight its identity as a hub for bamboo, apples, and pisco.
