Shenzhen, known as an important special economic zone for reform and opening up, a national economic center, an international center for science and technology, an international cultural exchange center, and a global marine central city, while its Guangming District is a national science city in Guangzhou-Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Corridor, an important source of innovation in the Pearl River Delta, and the north center of Shenzhen.
I. Project Overview
The project is located in Unit 4 of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone, north of Guiwan 2nd Road and west of 11th Road. It encompasses 04-03-01 educational facility land and 04-03-02 green space. The total site area is approximately 37,141.26 square meters, including approximately 3,353.58 square meters of green space on the north side. The total floor area is approximately 95,000 square meters.

The School of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago is now accepting applications for the 2020–21 Douglas A. Garofalo Fellowship. Named in honor of the architect and educator Doug Garofalo (1958–2011), the nine-month fellowship provides emerging designers the opportunity to teach design studio and seminar courses and conduct independent research, culminating in a public lecture at the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts and an exhibition or public conversation at the school.

Cartographies of the Imagination presents a forum for the multi-disciplinary discussion of cartography as world-making. We seek to explore alternative practices of charting not only physical places but also the means of mapping people, objects, memories, events, movements and narratives. We invite scholars, practitioners and artists working with all forms of world-making to investigate and discuss their perspectives, projects, research and practice. We invite all interpretations of the topic - be it a talk or paper, presentation, live drawing, film, performance or otherwise.
