From September 21 to 25, the MEXTRÓPOLI Architecture and City Festival will offer a program of public space activations, city tours, and film series to celebrate the ninth edition of this event, held in collaboration with the XII Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism. As in previous years, exhibitions are a central part of the festival's agenda; this year, five architecture showcases will be presented at some of Mexico City's most iconic museums.

Following the great success of the first three editions held from 2019 to 2021, the idea of a fourth ScaLIurbani 2022 event was launched to confirm the annual frequency of this important cultural event. The theme chosen for next year is Mediterranean Connections or the Connections created by the Mediterranean and, with them, ties, relationships, Architectures and stories related to it; a theme that has as its objective the involvement of the countries bordering our sea through their projects and achievements as well as with the free interpretation of the relationship between the sea and its borders; the relationship between Architecture, City, Territory and Culture of the various countries, therefore, becomes a trait d’union between the various places in the Mediterranean basin.
Mediterranean as a bridge between East and West, between South and North; a basin that is not only a geographical place but also a changing collective imagination that contributes to influencing the perception of space in the various countries bordering it. Architecture becomes that element and that bond that can also be shared through the diversity of places in the Mediterranean which are sometimes represented as similar or close, while others, on the other hand, as aliens and strangers due to social, cultural and economic differences.
The event, of international scope, aims to be (as in previous editions) an opportunity to return to express, through Architecture, the strong desire for the quality of the space in which we live, a wealth to be protected, to be renewed and create.

In this sense, Beta comes with concrete tools that encourage the public to become more active and to claim, along with the responsibility, their right to the city.
The dynamic Brazilian design scene has seen a prominent trend in recent years: self-production in wood, where designers develop and craft their creations by hand in their own workshops. The book Ricardo Graham Ferreira: O Ebanista offers an intimate look at the work of one of this generation's leading figures, encouraging readers to form their own formal and emotional interpretations through a collection of records and testimonials from those who are part of the designer's life. Rather than providing a chronological or technical guide, the intention is to let the gaze wander, discovering what attracts and moves the reader. It is a reflection of the symbiosis between body and raw material, the union of distinct lives and cycles in an object meant to endure.

The NGO La Reconquista Peatonal (LRP) seeks to highlight people's experiences in the city, particularly through walking. To this end, it collects walkers' experiences through mobile paper journals that individuals receive, complete, and return with observations, perceptions, and daily experiences in the city. This process has generated over a thousand journals containing diverse records and relevant information on the multiple relationships between people and their environments, highlighting subjective aspects often overlooked in the urban sphere, such as memory, identity, and affection.
The 2022 edition of the Semana Criativa de Tiradentes has been scheduled: it will take place from October 20 to 23 in the historic city of Tiradentes, Minas Gerais. The event will be held in person, featuring four days packed with lectures, panel discussions, exhibitions, workshops, and experiences centered on the Brazilian artisanal universe. On Friday, September 16, the first debate on the war in Ukraine will take place, centered on the book ENSAIOS SOBRE A GUERRA Rússia Ucrânia (Essays on the Russia-Ukraine War), currently in production by the independent Brazilian publisher Kinoruss. Following on from these advances, we’re also seeing technology that can excite and entice buyers, like sales configurators and interactive tours, where visitors can choose finishes and design their own spaces right before their eyes; virtual reality experiences, where architects can get feedback from investors on design at key stages of the process; shadow studies, where potential occupants can see how a space will be affected by sunlight at various times of day; and digital twins, where cities can get a true idea of a building’s usage, which leads to new ways to optimize efficiencies and design better spaces for residents.
