Program of activities for the 13th Anniversary of the CAP Lima Regional

The CAP Regional Lima extends an invitation to the activities scheduled for the 13th Anniversary of the Lima Regional chapter. We will celebrate the architecture of our city by touring iconic modernist buildings, interviewing renowned Peruvian architects about their careers, showcasing the vitality of the new generation of architects emerging in the Lima scene, and exploring the diversity and quality of work from future architects, who will present their undergraduate theses and final projects.

COMMONS Conversation Series

Registration is now open for the conversations hosted by COMUNS, a virtual laboratory for experimental and participatory architecture organized by Marcella Arruda and Marina Frúgoli in partnership with the Marieta cultural center in São Paulo, Brazil. The laboratory aims to foster the exchange of experiences and reflections on social, ecological, and political technologies for transforming Latin American territories. The initiatives invited to these conversations follow logics that promote collective, collaborative, and experimental work, anchored in the ethics of buen vivir (good living), the decolonization of knowledge, and the preservation of the common good.

Isolated Dialogues: "The Bauhaus After the Centenary Debates at Its Founding Site"

During the pandemic, the School of Architecture at Universidad Finis Terrae has hosted the "Isolated Dialogues" lecture series, in which professionals from various fields discuss art, music, design, architecture, urbanism, and creative processes, among other topics, through the lens of confinement.

Isolated Dialogues: Records, Images, and the Need for the Other in Isolation

Isolation, viewed from various perspectives and disciplines, is the central theme of the "Isolated Dialogues" series, organized by the Universidad Finis Terrae School of Architecture, which takes place every Wednesday through July. The series features national and international artists, architects, designers, musicians, scientists, and journalists.

5th International Forum on Urban Interventions FIIU 5: Urban Resilience

The quarantine has highlighted the importance of the role that public space plays in our quality of life. International and regional experts will debate the planning, design, and management of public space in this new context during the 5th International Forum on Urban Interventions (FIIU 5): Urban Resilience. The event will be held virtually from August 14 to 16.

This Monday, May 25, marks the beginning of the 7th Arica Barroca South Andean Art Festival, an initiative established in 2014 to highlight the cultural identity and diversity of Arica, Parinacota, and the South American Andes.
For 2020, Arica Barroca introduces the theme “Sayarikuna”—Quechua for “We will rise”—to spark inquiry into exemplary manifestations across the American continent. It invites us to reflect on a return to our origins, the principles of “good living” (*buen vivir*) within the Andean worldview, and the practice of collectivity, reciprocity, and access to information, learning, and *Ayni*.

Throughout its history, the Taller Max Cetto has been characterized by its rich reflection on and development of architectural and artistic thought. Various activities take place within the framework of the Taller, including the "Viernes del Cetto" program, which features lectures by prominent professionals. Past editions have included architects and firms such as Jorge Ambrosi, Oscar Hagerman, Tatiana Bilbao, Frida Escobedo, Benjamín Romano, Palma MX, Michel Rojkind, Isaac Broid, and many others.
