ELEA 2023: Latin American Meeting of Architecture Students in Costa Rica

The Latin American Meeting of Architecture Students (ELEA) has served, across thirty-three in-person and one virtual edition, as an annual space to bring together hundreds of architecture students and young professionals from across Latin America. It provides a platform for different generations to exchange experiences and knowledge, and to build networks through exhibition, dialogue, and action within the field of architecture—and even in areas not commonly recognized as part of the discipline.

Documentation is the act of gathering and organizing information for a specific purpose. Whether analog or digital, this task is the first step toward cultural preservation.

II National Forum on Industrial Architectural Heritage

We are continuing the discussions regarding two relatively recent heritage typologies that require greater attention in contemporary times: modern and industrial heritage. The goal is to foster dialogue between modernity and the industrial production that utilized new materials, construction systems, and architectural works that defined this era. These works must be constantly remembered, as they unfortunately suffer from ongoing alterations or even demolition due to a lack of recognition as heritage assets by much of society.

Conversations at the Cetto

Throughout its history, the Taller Max Cetto has been defined by its reflection on and development of architectural and artistic thought. The Taller hosts various activities, including the "Conversaciones en el Cetto" program, which features lectures by prominent professionals. Previous editions have included architects such as Jorge Ambrosi, Oscar Hagerman, Tatiana Bilbao, Frida Escobedo, Carlos Mijares, Productora, Benjamín Romano, Jorge Yázpik, Isaac Broid, and many others. The 2022-2 cycle will feature Pavel Escobedo, Andrés Solíz, Gustavo López, Luis Young, Isadora Hastings, Javier Sánchez, Daniel Escotto, TO Arquitectura, and Bettina Cetto.
