The Agroecological Construction Course - Self-Managed School Site at the Rosa Luxemburgo Popular School, promoted by Peabiru TCA and the Landless Workers' Movement (MST) in partnership with the Council of Architecture and Urbanism of São Paulo (CAU/SP), seeks to address key issues surrounding popular housing in rural areas, while promoting discussions on agroecological materials and construction techniques within this context.
Between May and June, Thematic Training sessions will be held in the format of virtual workshops and debates, offering 300 spots for architects and urbanists and 100 spots for the general public. Practical Workshops are scheduled for July, pending confirmation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
By examining the contradictions inherent in the capitalist construction industry and the capitalist production of space, the course aims to highlight and discuss an alternative framework aligned with the agroecological and social aspects of Brazil's current agrarian landscape. Through the exchanges facilitated by this course, we hope to raise awareness, train, and mobilize professionals, students, and activists around these themes and causes.
