The Colombian Biennial of Architecture Students is a competition established by the Colombian Society of Architects that seeks to highlight and promote the professional practice of architecture by showcasing the best projects from students across the country's various architecture schools.

In line with the commitment to territorial development in the Atlántico Department, the TECNOGLASS group—a national and international leader in the processing and commercialization of high-quality glass, windows, and facades—has decided to expand its reach in promoting city landmarks through a public art competition. The competition calls for the construction of two monuments aimed at reclaiming spaces in the municipalities of Puerto Colombia and Repelón, in the Atlántico Department. This initiative seeks to contribute to economic reactivation, tourism revitalization, and the strengthening of the inhabitants' sense of belonging.

It is necessary to expand theoretical development regarding housing in our country to update the ideas proposed by the Modern Movement in architecture over a century ago. This will allow for the discovery of solutions aligned with current demand, moving beyond the obvious responses of our time to help shift public policy, which currently focuses primarily on quantitative metrics while overlooking significant qualitative aspects.

This year, we celebrate the 60th anniversary of our Colombian Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism, which has established itself as a landmark event in the architectural world.

The goal of this competition is to foster research and the development of academic content in the form of essays. These submissions should provide a historical account and analyze the urban and architectural evolution of the city from its founding to the present day, framed within the various categories established for this competition.

Cultura Efímera A.C., through its program Patio. Encuentro de Intervenciones Efímeras, in collaboration with the National System of Art Creators of the Federal Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Culture of the State of Puebla, the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture of Puebla, and the Office of the Historic Center and Cultural Heritage of the Municipality of Puebla, invites visual, graphic, multidisciplinary, and fine artists, as well as architects—both established and emerging—to participate in the fourth edition of Patio Efímero.

The EMPORIA award guidelines encompass ephemeral works applied to museums, exhibitions, trade fairs, shareholder meetings, points of sale, festivals, sporting events, as well as conceptual and experimental architecture. The common denominator is that the architectural work must be ephemeral and executed for projects within Mexico.

The sixth edition of the Félix Candela Award is a dream of the city. After several editions spent traversing the countryside in search of truth, this edition focuses on the quintessential social construct of architecture: the city. The city is the built form of human relationships and, as such, represents us as a society. The question is whether our current city is also our will. Between the Captive and the Warrior, we choose to be both, in that oscillation that Spanish architect Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oíza spoke of—from the city to the countryside, and now from the countryside back to the city. We return from the field with at least the tools of the woodsman, the hunter, the farmer, the gardener, or the shepherd, ready to insert what we have learned into the robust trunk of our cities.

To position Bucaramanga as a tourist destination and contribute to the city's cultural development and citizens' sense of heritage, numerous projects are being carried out throughout 2022 as part of the city’s 400th-anniversary celebrations. One of these involves the redesign, improvement, and renovation of Parque Centenario, an area that has seen a surge in artistic and educational offerings in recent years, led by institutions such as the Teatro Santander and the Municipal School of Arts. This competition is part of these significant transformation efforts, inviting architects, sculptors, designers, and related professionals to submit proposals for a sculptural piece to be installed in Parque Centenario.

The Master of Advanced Studies in Collective Housing (MCH) is a full-time international postgraduate program in architecture and design for housing and the city, presented by UPM and ETH Zurich. After 16 editions, it is ranked as one of the best architecture master's programs in the world.

This annual competition, organized since 1986 by World Habitat in partnership with UN-Habitat, recognizes responses to global challenges in the field of housing and habitat.

The School of Architecture at the Universidad Andrés Bello's Campus Creativo is now accepting applications for the third edition of Residencias Remotas. Concéntrico, in its effort to initiate new formats that respond to urban transformations, presents a call for entries in collaboration with the Logroño City Council and LIF 2002 (Logroño Railway Integration), as part of the city's strategic plan to address heatwaves. Taking a step forward to improve the quality of public space as part of the World Capital of Architecture title the city will hold in 2026, Barcelona is launching a new International Ideas Competition for Young Architects to transform 10 permanent party walls—one in each district—into new facades. Organized by the Barcelona City Council and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, in collaboration with UNESCO and the UIA (International Union of Architects), this call for entries seeks architectural proposals that give meaning to walls that are currently anonymous and unremarkable, exposed in the public realm in a state of permanent temporality.
