It is necessary to expand theoretical development regarding housing in our country to update the ideas proposed by the Modern Movement in architecture over a century ago. This will allow for the discovery of solutions aligned with current demand, moving beyond the obvious responses of our time to help shift public policy, which currently focuses primarily on quantitative metrics while overlooking significant qualitative aspects.
Within academia, it is essential to stimulate discussion and encourage theoretical discourse on the various aspects of housing, bearing in mind that this is where the next generation of architects is being trained to address the persistent housing challenges in our urban and rural areas.
