Under the theme ARCHITECTURE, LANDSCAPE, AND CULTURE: ECHOES OF MODERNITY, the 9th DOCOMOMO North/Northeast Seminar will discuss the conditions of architecture and urbanism as cultural manifestations that reflect identities and social values constructed across diverse fields and eras. The event focuses on developing specific perspectives capable of understanding distinct realities, historically and geographically expanding the scope that characterizes various modernities.
The National Seminar of Model Architecture and Urbanism Offices (SeNEMAU) is the occasion where members of EMAUs from across the country discuss, exchange experiences, and improve the model of education and university extension, where production is primarily focused on issues involving the democratization of architecture. SeNEMAU, like the EMAU itself, is an event conceived and promoted by FeNEA and has been held annually since 1997, organized by students involved with EMAUs alongside faculty advisors. The seminar program consists of activities that promote a collective experience of exchange and learning, such as presentations of work from model offices, practical workshops, lectures, roundtables, and experiences and interventions in urban spaces.
For three weeks, São Luís will host a cycle of activities focused on social urban innovation at the Trapiche Santo Ângelo (Galpões do Complexo Santo Ângelo). Located in the city's historic center, the site is currently undergoing a process of heritage revitalization.
