Ephemeral Urban Laboratory | Lab SLZ

For three weeks, São Luís will host a cycle of activities focused on social urban innovation at the Trapiche Santo Ângelo (Galpões do Complexo Santo Ângelo). Located in the city's historic center, the site is currently undergoing a process of heritage revitalization.

Occupying this space with an Ephemeral Urban Laboratory for 21 days aims to foster a sense of belonging and local recognition. By identifying collective desires and aspirations, the project seeks to co-design spaces and programs for public use, benefiting all residents and visitors. This initiative enhances the collective experience of the area within the broader context of new democracies, governance models, the creative economy, and the intersection of arts, sciences, and (social) technologies, drawing on approaches from participatory civic design, placemaking, and tactical urbanism.
