Skylights and glazed ceilings can offer a great source of natural light, but can also come with the issue of glare and significant heat gain. Heat gain and loss through overhead glazing is many times greater than conventional windows making solar protection an essential addition. Shade Factor’s range of internal sun protection for overhead glazing keeps out the harmful sun and prevents heat loss in colder seasons. Shade Factor offers two systems to combat this.
The systems are available in a variety of finishes for blinds and cassettes, including natural anodized, or powder-coated in a specified color. High-quality fabric options include both full block out or sun filtering fabrics.
Features
Skylight, Glass Roof, and Glazed Ceiling Shading Systems
The skylight blinds consist of large motorized systems and are available in multiple configurations for design flexibility. The system uses constant fabric tension, which has been highly engineered to provide smooth, quiet, and long-lasting operation. The system caters for mid to large-sized applications starting from 2 x 2 meters. Mounting options include surface mounted for retrofitting, recess mounted for designs with an integrated perimeter recess or fully concealed using the Blindspace concealment system. The skylight system suits a variety of construction details, including surface mounting, recessed, or fully concealed. Applications include large skylights, vast rectangular internal openings and lightwells, glass roofs, and glazed ceilings. |
