CharacteristicsIdeal for construction of large and glazed roofs, easy, fast and secure to install, great design flexibility
Genmab located in Utrecht, The Netherlands, is research facility of international biotechnology company. Its design combines technology and sustainability. It was designed and built by CEPEZED Architects in 2016.
To make it sustainable, the architects decided to optimize daylight in the central atrium by using VELUX Modular Skylights. They also used ventilation controlled based on predetermined CO₂ thresholds, in certain areas of the building.
About Atrium Longlight
Atrium Longlight solution is the modular skylight from VELUX, used in this project, and it provides great daylighting design for spaces that have large and open atriums. This modular skylights can be combined to create a large glass roof.
For better results it's recommended to use either mono-pitched Longlights at low angle or Ridgelight at 5° for maximum daylight, and Ridgelights 25-40° with venting modules for optimum thermal confort.
Atrium Longlight is ideal for construction of large, glazed roofs, it's easy, fast and secure to install and has a great design flexibility.
