Modernfold manufactures operable partitions, glass wall systems and accordion doors for interiors that need to change configuration over time. The PureView® single panel glass wall is the manufacturer's most transparent movable partition: single-glazed panels of 1/2-inch (13 mm) tempered glass in slim aluminum rails, moved into position one at a time by hand. Where the Acousti-Clear® family maximizes acoustic separation, PureView® maximizes daylight and sightlines, with acoustic control available up to 37 STC.
Rail profile and transparency
Rails measure 4.12 inches (105 mm) square at top and bottom, or 10 inches square at the bottom in the PureView Plus® version, which suits taller panels and heavier duty conditions. Because there is no intermediate framing across the panel face, the closed wall reads as a continuous glazed plane rather than as a series of framed openings — the reason this system is generally specified where the partition sits in a public or client-facing interior.
Acoustic options
Acoustic performance is specified at 15, 33, 35 or 37 STC, the upper three ratings requiring fully framed panels. At 15 STC the wall is a visual and spatial division rather than an acoustic one; the fully framed options cover speech privacy between adjacent rooms. This is a real trade-off against double-glazed systems, and the choice should follow from whether the divided spaces will be in simultaneous use.
Sealing, glass and finishes
The system uses vinyl top and bottom seals with interconnecting floor bolts, which secure the run once panels are positioned. Standard glass is clear tempered, with low-iron, frosted, etched, appliqué, laminated and polar white markerboard options — the markerboard variant turning the closed partition into a working surface in training and meeting rooms. Rail finishes include clear, dark bronze, black and satin stainless anodized, plus powder coating in over 170 standard RAL colors.
Dimensions and layout
Maximum panel width is 4 feet (1,219 mm) and maximum height 12 feet (3,657 mm), with panels weighing up to 330 lbs (150 kg) — roughly 40% lighter than comparable double-glazed panels, which eases the demand on the structure above the ceiling. Panels run on G330 track and can also be specified on ComfortDrive® for automated operation. Since panels travel individually, the layout can branch and store in more than one direction from the same opening.
