Wallcovering in Historic Bologna Apartment | GLAMORA

GLAMORA is an Italian brand specializing in custom wallcoverings inspired by art, design, architecture, and nature. Temps Perdu wallcovering from the Komorebi Collection was used in a historic apartment located in Bologna, Italy. Designed by Doodesign, the renovation reinterprets a piano nobile residence within a fifteenth-century palace, balancing the building's historic character with the functional needs of a contemporary family home.

The project was commissioned by a young family seeking a residence defined by generous proportions, natural light, and a strong connection to Italian architectural heritage. Original doors, cornices, moldings, arches, and frescoed ceilings were carefully preserved, while the interiors were updated through a restrained palette, contemporary furnishings, and a design approach centered on simplicity and balance. The intervention allows the architecture to remain the focal point while creating spaces better suited to everyday life.

Temps Perdu wallcovering was specified within a vaulted transitional space characterized by a large central arch and a recessed niche. Applied along the curved surface, the design introduces subtle botanical motifs that emphasize the geometry of the vault and enhance the perception of height. Produced on pure European linen, the wallcovering adds texture and warmth without competing with the apartment's historic decorative elements. Instead, it supports the overall atmosphere of comfort and continuity, contributing to a contemporary interpretation of the residence while respecting its architectural identity.
