The 14th edition of the Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism focuses on the concept of dwelling as the foundation of architecture and the humanization of the city. This idea is defined by the quality and character of spaces, whether domestic or public, urban or rural. The exhibition seeks to value environments, social life, spaces, and the proximity of places without compromising the creativity of the works. The humanization of architecture and the city is based on proximity, human scale, and spaces for both social interaction and intimacy.

Emerging from a context of economic austerity, the biennial showcases architecture that has moved away from formal excess while successfully maximizing the relationships between domestic environments, the city, and people.

The Arquiteturas Film Festival in Lisbon is the only Portuguese international film and architecture festival, and it will hold its sixth edition from June 6 to 10 at the Forum Lisboa and Cinema City Alvalade.

The exhibition is part of the parallel events of the XXI Pan-American Biennial of Architecture in Quito and will be open from November 15, 2018, through January 20, 2019.

Following the success of the 2017 workshop, where students conceived the Amazon Climate Change Learning Center—one of 15 finalists selected from 384 proposals in the WDCD Climate Change Challenge—this year’s AA Visiting School Amazon workshop is all about hands-on experience.

The goal is to design and build a small prototype of an experimental floating structure in the middle of Lake Mamori in the Amazon. This model will be built in collaboration with the local community, in partnership with Ecofloat, and under the guidance of AA Visiting School Amazon faculty Nacho Martí and Marko Brajovic.

Following its debut in Zurich, the exhibition CLOUD68-Papeles y voces, an initiative by the Fundación de Arquitectura Frágil, will be presented in Santiago at the Patricia Ready Gallery.

Now in its third edition in Rio de Janeiro, ARCHCINE will be held for the first time in Brasília, a city renowned for its urban planning and architecture.

In Portuguese architecture, the quest to understand the slow integration of women into the profession is a recent discussion. However, debates regarding Women in Architecture or the relationship between feminism and architecture began at least in the 1970s and extend beyond women's rights. They have materialized through meetings, literature, and individual and collective paths that contribute to the theoretical and practical transformation of architecture.

Architecture, design, engineering, and innovation in wood take center stage at Wood Week 2018, where more than 100 projects from across Chile and Latin America will be presented to the jury.
