Performance "Cult against Hoaxes" at the Rio Art Museum

Lider brings featured DW! installation to Rio de Janeiro

Lider, a furniture brand from Minas Gerais that combines artisanal woodworking with design, was a highlight of DW! São Paulo Design Weekend 2024, presenting key releases from its new collection with scenography by creative Jacimar Ferreira da Silva at its flagship store on Alameda Gabriel Monteiro da Silva. Now, the installation—adapted by the in-house visual merchandising team led by Raquel Nogueira—will travel to the brand's stores in other Brazilian capitals, which will also host exclusive events featuring the designers behind several pieces in the new portfolio. In total, 19 products make up this first-semester collection.

Workshop NBR9050: Accessibility and Inclusion

The NBR9050: Accessibility and Inclusion Workshop is a project carried out in partnership with Maitá ATHIS and funded by the Council of Architecture and Urbanism (CAU). It aims to train architecture and urban planning professionals to apply NBR 9050 and 16537 standards through theoretical and practical activities. These activities contextualize these regulations within the promotion of fundamental rights, in accordance with the CAU Code of Ethics, which seeks to ensure that human needs regarding functionality, cost-effectiveness, durability, comfort, hygiene, and accessibility in the built environment are met.

Paço Imperial opens three exhibitions

On April 17, 2024, the Paço Imperial will open three simultaneous exhibitions: "Transmutações: alquimia e resistência" [Transmutation: Alchemy and Resistance] by Rio-based artist Marcela Cantuária, one of the most prominent names in the contemporary visual arts scene; "Davuls de Salé" by São Paulo-based artist Cadu, in collaboration with Adriano Motta, Maneno Juárez, and Virgilio Bahde; and "bassa danza" by Rio-based artist Nathan Braga.

The exhibition "Radical Ideas About Love," by Rio de Janeiro-based artist Panmela Castro, will open on August 9 at 5:00 PM at the Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR). With a career spanning over 20 years, the artist presents an exhibition of participatory works centered on the psychological concept of the need for belonging as a vital human impulse. Curated by Daniela Labra with curatorial assistance from Maybel Sulamita, the show features 17 works—10 of which are never-before-seen—including performances, photographs, paintings, sculptures, and videos that explore themes such as affectivity, loneliness, visibility, empowerment, self-care, and memory.
