Organized annually by Escola da Cidade, the Scientific Initiation Symposium has established itself since its first edition in 2009 as a prolific forum for debate among students, advisors, and guest commentators regarding academic research and fundamental issues in the field of architecture and urbanism across its multiple approaches—from social housing themes to landscape discussions, from public art to critiques of modern Brazilian architecture, and from urbanism to design.
In its 10th edition, the Escola da Cidade Scientific Initiation Symposium consolidates its role as a space for presenting undergraduate research in Architecture and Urbanism (and related fields) conducted both at Escola da Cidade and at other universities, colleges, and schools.
