UCTEA Chamber of Architects of Turkey is organizing a series of online conferences called “Designing with People”. With the support of the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture program, in these conferences, valuable laureates of the program will be giving lectures talking about their approach in architecture and/or urban planning, their ethical and design approach, and their ideas and development of participation processes. Moderated by Prof. Dr. Deniz İncedayı, President of the Chamber of Architects of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Jana Revedin, Founding President of the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture, and Marie-Helene Contal, Director of the Department of Cultural Development, Cité de l’Architecture & du Patrimoine will be giving introductory speeches about the award program which started in 2006, and continues under the patronage of UNESCO. The award program recognizes five architects who share both the principles of sustainable development and a participatory architectural approach to the needs of society, in both the northern and the southern hemispheres.

Minnette De Silva’s unique position in the mid-20th century exemplifies cultural and local specificity in dialogue with a global modern movement. Her architectural practice was expressive of the materials, techniques, and history of her native Sri Lanka as well as her participation in a network of international architects and designers. As a result, De Silva’s legacy traces the complex and multi-directional vectors of modernity.

DEEP CITY Latsis symposium is gathering people from around the world to discuss and present written, built, coded, drawn, filmed, or modelled work around the topics of data, democracy and sovereignty. From digital tools for urban governance to AI and new forms of design and spatial agency, we will explore emerging negotiations between the technological, the ecological and the social.

ATI 2021, 2nd International Symposium of Architecture, Technology and Innovation aims to provide scholars and practitioners from various backgrounds with an academic environment to question state-of-the-art tools, techniques and methodologies applied in designing built environments which will be resilient to what the future brings.

Sophia is currently accepting the submission of articles for consideration, following the external Peer Review process
as per described on the Editorial Policies section. All articles submitted should address the topic for the upcoming issue
and be written in accord to the Author Guidelines.

The 6th Conference on “Urban Planning and Architectural Design for Sustainable Development” (UPADSD), follows the success of the previous meeting in 2015, 2017, 2018 ,2019 and 2020 The Concept of sustainable development has emerged over the past few decades as a new necessity for urban cities.

IEREK organizes the 2nd international conference on Utopian and Sacred Architecture Studies to be hosted in one of the most spiritual cities, the city of Naples. Naples is one of the oldest continuously inhabited urban areas in the world which makes it a prime example that contains real-life models of sacred architecture, spiritual buildings and sites such as Pompeii, Amalfi Coast, Ravello, etc. To optimize the benefits of going through such an experience, visits to these cities will be designed alongside the conference's main activities.
