Text description provided by the architects. K2 is designed for a family of five in the North of the Netherlands. This area is prone to small earthquakes because of the natural gas winnings over the past 30 years. So building in wood-frame construction instead of the national folklore in bricks was without much discussion. The landscaping and building code mandated an architecture with sloped roofs and natural colors in either black or brown.
