Five Teams Shortlisted for “Russia” Theme Park

The Russian Green Building Council has shortlisted five teams to continue on with the second stage of the international Park “Russia” competition, which plans to become the largest theme park in Europe. Designed to be a “trademark” for the country in Moscow’s Domodedovo district, the 1000 hectare “Russia” Theme Park aims to merge concepts of healthy living, entertainment and education into one, commercially attractive destination.

The five shortlisted teams are:

The theme park will be made up of seven components: Entertainment, Landscape, Education, Sports, Outdoor Activities, Health Care, Exhibitions, and Commercial Services. Programs will range from a high-tech amusement park to cinema multiplex, as well as concert halls, a theater center, Safari Park, Presidential Botanic Garden, Museum of Russian Science, “Historical Path of Russia” educational center, a sports “Hall of Fame”, surfing in the Black Sea-inspired Aquapark, an equestrian club, SPA complex, conference center, hotel, residential and shopping areas, and more.

Results of Stage II are expected to be announced by the end of the year.
