2021年威尼斯双年展金狮奖最佳国家馆：阿联酋国家馆“湿地”
凭借由策展人 Wael Al Awar 与寺本宪一（Kenichi Teramoto）主持的展览“湿地（Wetland）”，阿拉伯联合酋长国国家馆（the United Arab Emirates）荣获2021年威尼斯双年展金狮奖最佳国家馆。第17届威尼斯建筑双年展（17th Venice Architecture Biennale）的评审团由来自日本的妹岛和世（Kazuyo Sejima）担任主席，其他成员还包括来自秘鲁的桑德拉·巴克莱（Sandra Barclay）、来自黎巴嫩的拉米亚·戈雷格（Lamia Joreige）、来自加纳-苏格兰的莱斯利·洛科（Lesley Lokko）和来自意大利的卢卡·莫利纳里（LucaMolinari）。本届双年展的金狮奖最佳国家馆获奖者通过探索阿联酋当地的地理环境，试图寻找水泥这一世界主要二氧化碳排放物的替代品。
本届双年展的主题为“我们将如何共同生活”。除上述奖项外，在双年展官方网页上的颁奖仪式中还现场报道了评审团将金狮奖最佳参与者奖授予“RAUMLABORBERLIN城市实践案例”以及将银狮奖最具潜力年轻参与者奖授予“边境生态与加沙地带——实现无缝领土的基础（Border Ecologies andthe Gaza Strip- Foundation for Achieving Seamless Territory, FAST）”。此外还将国家馆特别提名奖授予了菲律宾和俄罗斯，以及人类世博物馆的 Cave_bureau: 展览 3.0黑曜石雨（Cave_bureau for the Anthropocene Museum: Exhibit 3.0 Obsidian Rain）。
