Architecture+Design Film Festival Winnipeg

Now in its eleventh year, the annual Architecture + Design Film Festival, organised by the Winnipeg Architecture Foundation, presents critically acclaimed films focusing on the importance of architecture and design in everyday life. The films cover a range of design-oriented topics from architecture and urban design to graphics and product design. is the only festival in Canada devoted solely to architecture and design.This year’s festival will include in person screenings at Cinematheque,100 Arthur Street, as well as the option to stream at home across Canada. There are 17 films from UK ,Italy, Lithuania, Denmark, US, Canada, Cambodia, Israel, Australia and Austria. The only Canadian based festival showcasing architecture and design. London Festival of Architecture launches second edition of Showroom Showcase competition

Following the success of last year’s competition, the London Festival of Architecture (LFA) is delighted to launch the second edition of Showroom Showcase competition, which will see a series of innovative paper installations by emerging architects and designers displayed in some of London’s leading design showrooms. International showrooms Gaggenau and VitrA will be taking part in the 2022 edition of Showroom Showcase. More showrooms will be announced at a later date.

The London Festival of Architecture (LFA) and the Royal Docks Team (RDT) have launched the third edition of the Pews and Perches design competition, which will see a series of bespoke public benches delivered throughout the Royal Docks this year.

Architectural RFP: House Of Switzerland In San Francisco

The Swiss Government is seeking proposals from Architecture firms to provide services and management of a full design team (including all relevant engineering disciplines) related but not limited to the planning, design, bidding, construction oversight, and handover of a 20,000ft² tenant improvement renovation in San Francisco. The space is being built to house the Swiss Consulate, Swissnex, Switzerland Tourism, and Switzerland Global Enterprise. The site is located at 1535 Mission Street in San Francisco, California. The Alexander Thomson Society is delighted to announce the ‘Remembering Mark Baines’ Biennial Architectural Illustration Competition. The late Mark Baines was a founding member and Chair of the Society, an architect, and teacher of architecture at the Macintosh School of Architecture. He continually emphasised the importance of drawing architecture and was never without a sketchbook.

With Love From Spain

The exhibition With Love from Spain in Aalborg, Denmark, is a collaboration between Utzon Center and the Aarhus School of Architecture. It is based on the research project “Escandinavia - Architectural dialogues between Denmark and Spain”, which investigates the fortunate parallelisms, influences and translations between Nordic and Spanish architectural cultures. The origin of this long-term affinity is to be found in the significant interest that Spanish architects had in Nordic architecture, extensively focused on its Modern Masters: Alvar Aalto, Erik Gunnar Asplund, Sigurd Lewerentz, Sverre Fehn, Arne Jacobsen, and Jørn Utzon.

The City Nature Challenge is an international global citizen science event that brings together cities around the globe in a friendly competition to observe and identify the biodiversity in their communities. The event focus on urban areas to promote the idea that one does not need to leave the city to connect with nature. This year, we will be exploring local parks, backyards, and neighborhoods to observe wild plants and animals that share our environment.

About this Event
Pasadena Heritage is proud to present a new version of our annual Spring Home Tour. Instead of a one-day event, tours of six architectural works of art will be offered as a series. Recordings of two different home tours will premiere on the last Sundays of April, May and June. Recordings will be available through July 4.
