As part of the "Arquitectura de Selección" lecture series—dedicated in this edition to extreme territories—the Universidad Finis Terrae School of Architecture will host José Pedro Montt, a member of the expedition that completed the first longitudinal crossing of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field in the late 1990s.
The publication "Tres exposiciones, tres juegos" captures El Equipo Mazzanti's experience at the 2015 Chicago Architecture Biennial, the 2016 Milan Triennale, and the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale. The book details the conceptualization of these exhibitions through texts, diagrams, plans, and photographs that highlight the specific interests of El Equipo Mazzanti.
Physical construction of the Museum of Historical Memory of Colombia in Bogotá is set to begin in the final quarter of 2018. In 1960, Jane Jacobs' book The Death and Life of Great American Cities was a landmark for architecture, investigating the consequences of urban reconfiguration by modern urban planners and architects. Jacobs was also an activist involved in many mid-century movements in New York to halt the draconian plans of Robert Moses, a powerful builder with significant political influence.
