It has been 10 years since the Sustainability and Architecture Association (ASA) launched its first ASACCIÓN, a competition aimed at architecture students. The initiative seeks to strengthen public awareness of sustainability and highlight the alliances between various sector stakeholders, ranging from design professionals and public managers to construction industry representatives.
Architecture goes beyond the buildings themselves, making them functional public art installations that have strong impacts on both people and the environment. Our architecture is the reflection of our era, our aspirations, and our values.
The competition task covers the part of the Municipality of Budva, which represents the center of cultural, entertainment and informative events. The proposal for the competition deals with four natural and heritage environments: the water area, the beach, the green area and the promenade.
For the Competition for the development of a conceptual urban and architectural design for the promenade in the "Budva Bay" part of the Budva-Bečići promenade, phase I, participants are being asked to design a site plan for the development of a new identity for the city of Budva.
It is necessary to provide a basis for the creation of collective awareness at two levels. At the primary level, it is the creation of collective awareness among the citizens of Budva as permanent users of the space and their treatment of the environment in which they find themselves. At a secondary level, it is the image that the city sends to the world and to tourists as temporary and occasional users of the space.
It is of utmost importance to derive inspiration from vast cultural heritage of Old town of Budva and its 2500 years old history and future urban development.
Special attention should be paid to the dispersion of facilities covered with the proposal for competition, with an emphasis on the linear flow of user movement and intersection with lateral directions from the hinterland and contact zones. It is necessary to radically change the mode of use of the coastal strip of land with an emphasis on the introduction of public areas for communication, recreation and outdoor events.
The competition is open to all. No professional qualification is required. Design proposals can be developed individually or by teams.
Novecento Two-in-One Lighting System is the new design competition by Novecento and Desall. Creative talents are invited to submit proposals for a versatile and modern LED lamp that can be installed both as a flush ceiling light and a pendant light. The lamp should be intended for large-scale distribution and must be designed for private indoor spaces, acting as a piece of furniture even when not in use (lights off). Participation is free of charge.

TerraViva Competitions launches WILDLIFE PAVILIONS, a new architecture contest that aims to explore the potentialities of “Torbiere del Sebino” Reserve (Iseo, Italy) in order to come up with creative design proposals focused on nature. The SBE Student Challenge is already in its third edition. During the academic year 2022- 2023 we challenge higher education students with a design competition for a bridge in a historical context. And this is during 3 workshop days at the SBE office.

The Fundação Bienal will launch the essay collection Bienal de São Paulo desde 1951 on March 31 at the Ciccillo Mattarazzo Pavilion. This publication commemorates the 70th anniversary of the Bienal de São Paulo, reached in 2021, and the 60th anniversary of the Fundação Bienal, celebrated this year. Through March 31, ZIV Gallery is hosting Expo ZIV Mulheres, with activities taking place at Beco do Batman and the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) São Paulo, located in Higienópolis. SPACE10, IKEA's independent research and design lab, shares a first look at the program for its two-week pop-up in Mexico City, which will explore the theme "Beyond Human-Centered Design." On Thursday, March 31, the final lecture of the month for the "The Work of Others" series will take place. The series is organized by the Center for Studies of Contemporary Architecture (CEAC) at the School of Architecture and Urban Studies (EAEU) of the Torcuato Di Tella University (UTDT) for the first semester of 2022. The lecture will be led by architect Diego Arriagada, with an introduction by architect Martín Huberman. Lectures by Martín Torrado, Jorge Silvetti (Machado Silvetti), and Mariano Clusellas will follow throughout April as part of this program of public, in-person events, which runs through early August and requires prior registration.
