On November 24, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the second edition of DOMO will take place online, an event tailored for architects and facade consultants. Conceived by Cebrace, the largest glass and mirror manufacturer in South America, and held in partnership with Schüco and Eastman, the event will feature presentations focused on case studies, trends, and discussions regarding facades in nationally and internationally renowned projects, presented by professionals from firms such as Zaha Hadid Architects, Perkins&Will, and Andrade Morettin Arquitetos Associados.

The situation brought about by COVID-19 has forced us to rethink many of our daily routines and academic practices. Throughout the pandemic, new and interesting teaching dynamics have emerged, allowing us to leverage virtuality and immediacy to deepen practices that ensure learning outcomes.

FOCO is a lecture series organized by the University Commission of the Sociedad Central de Arquitectos every Saturday at 7:00 PM. With over 15 editions to date, the series has featured presentations from more than 65 prominent figures in architecture, design, and related disciplines, concluding each session with a performance by a guest artist.

The Rio de Janeiro Department of the Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB-RJ) has opened registration for the 58th Annual Awards—Road to the Centenary and the 37th Architect of Tomorrow Award. The former aims to recognize the intellectual and professional production of the Department's members, while the Architect of Tomorrow is dedicated to honoring academic work produced in architecture and urbanism programs across the state of Rio de Janeiro. The winning final graduation projects in the eight categories of the Architect of Tomorrow award will also compete for the Grandjean de Montigny Award, sponsored by CAU/RJ.

The call for entries for the 2020 CAU/RJ Grandjean de Montigny Grand Prize is now available! This year's winner will be awarded a study trip to a Latin American country, in addition to R$ 7,000 for expenses. The authors of the projects placed 2nd and 3rd will receive R$ 5,000 and R$ 3,000, respectively, for study trips. The results will be announced at the Architect and Urban Planner Day celebration on December 15. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be held online and streamed live on the CAU/RJ YouTube channel. Further details regarding the program will be released soon.

Urban screenings and films exploring the intersection of architecture and art were highlights of the recently concluded second weekend of the ArqFilmFest. The festival, which runs until November 29, is being held for free and online, allowing it to reach audiences across the country and the continent.

Casa da Arquitectura – Centro Português de Arquitectura is celebrating its 3rd anniversary starting November 17 at the Quarteirão da Real Vinícola in Matosinhos. The program features free admission to the exhibition through November 22, alongside online content available on its social media channels.

Aiming to transform times of crisis into opportunities to discover new ways of overcoming emerging challenges, the Association of Architecture Offices (AOA), through its Associates and Services committee, has organized the "Dialogues for Action" series. This series is designed to provide members and interested parties with an opportunity to discuss current issues related to the city.

International initiatives already operating in spaces where architecture serves as a pedagogical tool focused on spatial empowerment, labor relations, methodology, and the process behind buildings.

"Territorial Planning": The goal of this initial workshop is to provide information on the key considerations for building a sustainable future home and community.

Ser Urbano is an annual event hosted by the Architecture and Urbanism program at PUC-Rio. Organized by students, it reflects their concerns within the field of architecture and urbanism, seeking to stimulate critical and creative thinking within the academic environment. The Architecture & Design Film Festival is coming to a screen near you with a two-week-long virtual festival! From November 19-December 3, ADFF:2020 - presented by Eventscape - will take viewers on an uplifting journey around the world with 17 virtual film programs highlighting some of the world's most iconic architects & designers like Paul R.
