The situation brought about by COVID-19 has forced us to rethink many of our daily routines and academic practices. Throughout the pandemic, new and interesting teaching dynamics have emerged, allowing us to leverage virtuality and immediacy to deepen practices that ensure learning outcomes.
This closing activity for the 2020-2 term aims to confront students with a dose of reality while highlighting conscious solutions tailored to the new challenges of the discipline that can be generated through the design process. The event serves as a public exhibition and a presentation before an international jury, who will be tasked with selecting the winning projects of the 4th Design Week.
The projects presented during Design Week are INTEGRATED PROJECTS; that is, they must reflect the comprehensive nature of the academic semesters and the knowledge contributing to urban or architectural projects from conceptual, theoretical, technical, and technological perspectives: structures, graphic representation, theory and history, and design. Each semester has its own focus, ranging from housing, public space, and collective facilities of low, medium, and high complexity, to high-rise buildings and heritage interventions, among others. The jury will be tasked with evaluating each project comprehensively to ultimately select the best project from each semester.
