The 36th PLEA Conference will be held in Santiago, Chile, from November 23 to 25 at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. This year’s theme is influenced by the pandemic and questions the role of our future built environments: "The Future of Sustainable Buildings and Urbanism in the Age of Emergency."

On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, the first edition of the Norman Foster Foundation's public debates will be held at the Fundación Francisco Giner de los Ríos in Madrid, Spain, with the support of the Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction. The conference and subsequent debate will feature a panel of experts and a conversation between two Pritzker Prize laureates: Norman Foster, President of the Norman Foster Foundation, and Chilean architect Alejandro Aravena, Executive Director of ELEMENTAL.

The fourth edition of "Jornal Coletivo," to be distributed for free in November, explores the theme of creativity. This focus is informed by the Cannes Advertising Festival, which ranks Brazil as the third most creative country in the world, trailing only the United States and the United Kingdom.

The School of Architecture at the Universidad Andrés Bello’s Campus Creativo, across its Santiago and Viña del Mar campuses, is pleased to invite you to a two-part end-of-semester event featuring GRANDEZA Studio. The studio will host a lecture and subsequent discussion titled "Teatros Disidentes" on Thursday, November 24. Additionally, on Friday, November 25, the first Remote Residency will open with the exhibition "Mars Interruptus."

The second edition of the Elisava Masters’ Talks, a series of free, public lectures featuring top-tier international creatives, will take place from November 2022 to May 2023.

Organized by the Centro para la Arquitectura Constructo – AoA, this seminar features three lectures exploring the figure, theoretical contributions, and built work of Chilean architect Juan Borchers.

The 2nd CIRCULAR Architecture Conference in La Nucia (Alicante) will take place on November 9. This second edition focuses on people, adopting a more humanistic approach that transcends the field of architecture to reflect on its implications for sports and gastronomy as pillars of a healthy lifestyle.

Alberto Cruz’s drawings are the clearest manifestation of his radical ideals regarding education and the colorful aesthetic he also captured in his architectural work. He documented his capacity for observation—in both line and word—across more than two thousand notebooks and various drawing formats.

The launch of Materia Arquitectura 22: Aire will take place on Thursday, November 24, at 6:30 PM in the Patio de las Rosas at the Los Leones campus. Aiming to explore and transform abandoned architectural spaces through sound experimentation, the first edition of the "Resonant Spaces" (Espacios Resonantes) Architecture and Listening Festival will take place from Monday, November 14, to Saturday, November 26, featuring a variety of activities across the districts of Recoleta and Santiago.

The exhibition closing out the 2022 year at Casa das Artes – Porto opens on November 5 at 3:30 PM.

The 3rd National Seminar "Thinking the Project, Thinking the City" (Pensando o Projeto, Pensando a Cidade), taking place from November 28 to 30, 2022, and organized by the Graduate Program in Project and City (PPGPROCIDADE), seeks to reflect on the disciplinary field. The event aims to explore various subjects, issues, opportunities for dialogue, potential solutions, and the challenges inherent to contemporary research in architecture and urbanism.

The Pan-American Architecture Biennial of Quito (BAQ2022) will take place at the Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana from November 14 to 18. With its agenda now confirmed, the Biennial has brought together prominent professionals from across the continent and the globe to foster dialogue, exchange, and reflection on architecture and the contemporary city, cementing its status as the most important architectural event in the region.

On Wednesday, November 23, starting at 9:00 AM, Estácio will host a meeting with government officials, business leaders, merchants, and others interested in initiatives to revitalize downtown Rio de Janeiro. Hosted at the MAR (Rio Art Museum) in Praça Mauá, the Transforma Rio event is free and open to the public. This course is designed for participants to discuss and analyze the sustainability of building materials through a practical, interdisciplinary approach that combines social and environmental analysis. We focus on the production processes of local building materials that utilize both traditional and contemporary techniques.

The 16th edition of the international architecture seminar "From Territory to Detail" serves as a space for dialogue and reflection, bringing together students, academics, and professionals in the field alongside renowned Latin American architects. These practitioners share a common approach: balancing teaching with professional work across diverse areas, ranging from editorial projects to artistic experimentation.

Various initiatives have been promoted by public authorities aimed at the recovery of São Paulo's central area, whether focusing on buildings, seeking ways to encourage private investment in the restoration of underutilized or vacant properties, or focusing on open public spaces, such as the squares remaining from road interventions that are the subject of an international public competition.
