On November 16, the call for entries opened for the 6th edition of the Citizen Festival of Urban Interventions, which invites the residents of Santiago to carry out various initiatives, including music, performance, theater, installations, dance, workshops, and games in public spaces.
The 100 in 1 Day Santiago Festival, supported by funding from the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Heritage’s Program for the Strengthening of Cultural Organizations, will hold this new edition next summer. Given the current context, the number of urban interventions will be reduced to ensure greater control over health conditions and crowd density for each activity. Consequently, for the first time in the festival's history, there will be a selection process to determine which actions will be carried out.
“The year 2020 has forced us to modify certain routines and our relationship with public spaces and other people. While these changes are complex, they also offer us the opportunity to reinvent ourselves. For this reason, this new edition introduces many changes to adapt to current conditions while maintaining our usual creative strength,” says José Miguel Salgado, president of the Fundación Vuelta a la Manzana (VALM), which is organizing the festival.
