The Tamayouz Women in Architecture and Construction Award is an excellence award for women who have contributed to the fields of architecture and construction throughout the Near East and North Africa. The award consists of two categories:

As part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main World Design Capital 2026, ICEX is promoting a distinctive architectural installation that will transform the garden of the Instituto Cervantes in Frankfurt into an open cultural space. Inspired by the constructive methodology of Antoni Gaudí, the lightweight pavilion reinterprets his structural principles through a contemporary approach focused on geometry, material efficiency, and the relationship between form and structure.

"Appartamento Spagnolo" is an interior design exhibition organized by Interiors From Spain and Elle Decor Italia, bringing together a selection of the finest contemporary Spanish design, with the participation of 22 furniture and décor companies.
The installation comes to life in an exceptional setting: the historic Palazzo Castiglioni, an extraordinary example of Liberty-style architecture in the heart of Milan. The exhibition unfolds across six bright and dynamic spaces, spread among elegant rooms, an evocative winter garden, and a charming inner courtyard.
Every element engages harmoniously with its surroundings, blending functionality and aesthetics in a balance that evokes the landscapes, light, and natural rhythms of Mediterranean life.

At Light + Building 2026 in Frankfurt, OPPLE Lighting marked its 30th anniversary with an architectural proposition rather than a retrospective. Presented under the theme "Hi Light!," the company unveiled Light as Cloud, a booth designed by OMA. The installation also served as the international debut platform for OLL, OPPLE's new high-end design brand. Rather than functioning as a conventional product display, the project positioned light as a spatial system—one that shapes architecture, circulation, and perception.

The Rio de Janeiro Department of the Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB RJ) and the State Government, through the Cidade Integrada program, are hosting the International Favelas Meeting on March 17 and 18. This free event, supported by the Cumbre Internacional del Hábitat de América Latina y el Caribe (CIHALC), will feature activities held at the Palácio Guanabara and the IAB RJ headquarters in Flamengo.

The book AS CORES ORIGINAIS: UM ESTUDO SOBRE OURO PRETO is the result of research conducted between 2024 and 2025 to identify the color palette of facades within the city's protected urban perimeter. The information presented is based on an in-depth study of archival documentation regarding construction projects carried out over Ouro Preto's more than three centuries of history, the analysis of photographs from various historical periods, a review of technical texts on Brazilian architecture and methodologies for chromatic studies, and interviews with Ouro Preto residents. These data were cross-referenced with the results of extensive fieldwork, which documented the various layers of color on houses in the historic center through stratigraphic surveys (removing small layers of paint) and chromatic readings (colorimetry). Consequently, the publication records the history of the exploration and use of lime and mineral pigments in Ouro Preto, while also providing guidance for selecting facade colors that harmonize with the characteristics of the protected historic center.

Contemporary cities are increasingly facing challenges related to urban loneliness, social fragmentation, and the loss of meaningful spaces for connection. Lima is no exception. These dynamics invite us to rethink how we inhabit our cities and the role that space plays in building our quality of life.

What happens when the spaces that once sustained everyday social life begin to disappear?

Situated on the Danube, linking Vienna and Budapest by water. An industrial site in the wider city centre of Slovakia’s capital. Once a heavily used and noisy cargo port. Currently the largest urban redevelopment site in Bratislava. A place where the past meets the future—and where the city’s next chapter is being shaped today.

The theme of the competition is the design of the 350-hectare "Arsenal Memory Park" complex. It looks for a complete urban development of the site which will host „Interpretation Center“ which will be complemented and enhanced with facilities for cultural, artistic, educational, and recreational activities that promote open dialogue, discussion, exchange of ideas, and respect for diverse perspectives (up to 40.000 m2 area).

Myths, Legends, and Dreams

Tadao Ando has joined forces with Cauny to design the newest watch in The Architects of Time Series. This is a collection of watches designed by some of the greatest architects of our time—an initiative that the nearly century-old brand launched in 2019 with none other than Álvaro Siza. From then until today, the collection has proven to be a Pritzker Prize–based tour de force: Siza, Rafael Moneo, Eduardo Souto Moura, and, this year, Tadao Ando.

Completed in 1910, Robie House was one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpieces, emblematic of his Prairie style. Through years of turbulence in ownership and narrowly avoided demolition, changes were made to the building to suit its various occupants. Previous books about the iconic structure include images that reflect these adaptations, but now, with the publication of Robie House, readers can finally experience Wright’s original vision following the meticulous eleven-year restoration by the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust.

Materials 2050: Reuse and Recycle

In collaboration with building materials manufacturer Kingspan, Buildner has launched MICROHOME 2026, the eleventh edition of its annual competition, offering a €100,000 prize fund. This global competition invites architects, designers, and creative thinkers to redefine the concept of microhomes and develop cutting-edge, sustainable solutions for compact housing.

The Bethel Woods Art and Architecture Festival announces BuildFest: Acts of Construction, a three-year initiative that activates the historic grounds of the 1969 Woodstock festival through large-scale timber installations and multimedia experiences. Each year is organized around a single theme, inviting designers to collaborate on an interdisciplinary series of "acts" that build on one another to create an interconnected set of installations, activations, and performances. Act One: Staging is currently accepting proposals for adaptive art infrastructure designed to "set the stage" for future activations. It will be followed by Act Two: Choreography in 2027 and Act Three: Performance in 2028.

Each month, Friends of Residential Treasures Los Angeles (FORT: LA) curates a new self-guided trail, inviting Angelenos to explore the city’s rich architectural heritage. These immersive experiences highlight significant homes, hidden gems, and the designers who have shaped Los Angeles' built environment.

The second edition of EDGE Architecture Festival Budapest (EDGE Fest), organised by Építészfórum, will take place on 18-19 June 2026 in Budapest at Dürer Kert and the industrial venues of Hengermalom.
