Western Exhibitions is thrilled to present its third solo show with Marshall Brown, Je est un autre, in Galleries 1 and 2. Featuring two new projects, Brown uses the historically disruptive properties of collage and montage to create new spaces, forms, and narratives that embody new relationships between the one and the many. Je est un autre translates roughly to “I is another,” a phrase borrowed from French poet Arthur Rimbaud, and speaks to Brown’s rejection of purist or reductionist worldviews through his hybrid works. The exhibition opens on June 7th with a free and public reception from 5 to 8pm and runs through July 27th.

Responsive Cities is a bi-annual international symposium on the future of cities organized by the Advanced Architecture Group of IAAC. Panteon is an anachronistic venture: anachronistic is the content, anachronistic is the product, anachronistic is its use.

{CURA}, an acronym for architectural representation courses, is an independent school that focuses on training architects and students to improve their graphic representation skills. For the eighth consecutive year, the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture is hosting an exhibition of final degree projects at the restored Ca l'Alier factory in the Poblenou district. Titled "22@_What? How to achieve balance in Northern Poblenou, Barcelona," the exhibition reexamines the 22@ Plan, launched by the Barcelona City Council in 2000 to repurpose the neighborhood's former industrial zones. The plan aimed to create a compact city model where businesses, universities, research centers, and technology transfer hubs could coexist with housing, public facilities, and green spaces. Twenty years later, UIC Barcelona students have taken up the challenge, presenting new programmatic and architectural proposals for Northern Poblenou—a territory they believe is in need of new solutions and patterns.

The National Seminar of Model Offices of Architecture and Urbanism (SeNEMAU) is an event where members of EMAUs (Model Offices of Architecture and Urbanism) from across the country gather to discuss, exchange experiences, and refine the model of education and university extension, where production is primarily focused on issues involving the democratization of architecture. Like the EMAU itself, SeNEMAU is an event conceived and promoted by the FeNEA (National Federation of Architecture and Urbanism Students). It has been held annually since 1997, organized by students involved with the EMAUs alongside faculty advisors. The seminar program consists of activities that foster a collective experience of exchange and learning, such as presentations of work from the model offices, practical workshops, lectures, roundtables, and direct engagement and intervention in urban spaces.

DIMENSIÓN, the Festival of the Built Environment, is a two-day event featuring interactive workshops and keynote lectures by renowned international speakers who will share their knowledge and experience to support the professional development of the real estate industry. Guayaquil, Ecuador, hosts the event, which culminates in a real estate industry awards ceremony followed by a networking session, fostering new relationships and business opportunities. A dialogue on the contribution of Martín Chirino to architecture, landscape, and the identity of the Canary Islands through his sculpture. In his spiral structures, the smallest part is always equal to the largest through a multiplication that tends toward infinity. Chirino's spiral appears to be an interpretation of the structure that distributes the islands throughout the world; in part, it reflects how islanders view themselves. Participants include Magüi González, architect and professor of Projects at the Higher Technical School of Architecture of the University of Las Palmas; Fernando Menis, architect and president of the Laboratory for Innovation in Architecture, Landscape and Advanced Tourism of Tenerife; and Jesús Castaño, director of the Martín Chirino Foundation for Art and Thought.

ArquiTur 2019 will showcase architecture and design for tourism, including technologies, materials, design styles, and sustainable trends to generate new and innovative proposals for tourism infrastructure architecture and design.
