Applications are now open for the 5th edition of the Living Places - Simon Architecture Prize 2024
The Living Places – Simon Architecture Prize is an initiative by the company Simon, curated by the Fundació Mies van der Rohe since its inception in 2016 to commemorate Simon's centenary. Since then, architecture firms from over 23 countries—including Mexico, Poland, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Portugal, and Spain—have participated in the competition, reaffirming its international relevance. In the previous edition, the prize featured 220 nominated projects.
This meeting, continuing the previous Latin American and National gatherings, aims to bring together architecture professionals, academic departments, educators, researchers, and students to continue debating and deepening the understanding of professional practice in habitat transformation processes.
Concursos AG 360 announces the "Alpine Hostel 2019" ideas competition, which will take place from January to April 2019. The project calls for the creation of an alpine shelter and a viewpoint on the slopes of the Nevado de Toluca, Mexico, intended to promote ecotourism development in the area. The entire site development must be based on sustainable and environmentally friendly principles.

As in previous editions, the Latin American Architecture Biennial (BAL) aims to showcase the work of emerging professionals in Spain, thereby helping to promote their practice both in Spain and in their home countries.
BAL 2019 will take place over the course of one week in Pamplona, Spain, combining a variety of events linked to different geographic regions. The program will feature exhibitions, lectures, and roundtables that provide a global overview of the current state of Latin American architecture.
