Architecture and Urbanism is Culture

The Council of Architecture and Urbanism of Rio de Janeiro (CAU/RJ) is hosting a public debate to discuss cultural funding lines and the appreciation of architecture and urbanism through the lens of culture. The event will also provide an opportunity to address questions regarding the 6th edition of the organization's Cultural Sponsorship Program, which is accepting applications until 5:00 PM on September 21 for financial support for initiatives such as events or publications related to the architecture and urbanism profession.

BIM 5D Diploma Program

    OBJECTIVE

    To provide participants with the methodology and processes for implementing BIM 5D (Cost Engineering) during the planning, organization, and budget management phases, as well as BIM model development, to establish a context-specific methodology that addresses user needs.

    World-class BIM talk in Concepción

    To share our recent experience presenting at the BILT Europe 2018 conference (Ljubljana, Slovenia) and to introduce the services we are providing to companies in Concepción, CTI will host a free talk titled "World-Class BIM in Concepción."

    Urban Conversation: Urban Social Integration

    This discussion aims to create a space for proactive dialogue, featuring various guest speakers alongside students and the general public, to address pressing issues regarding the city's future challenges.
    We have invited four professionals who have led the coordination necessary to bring projects that foster social integration to fruition. The goal is for them to present each project as an example of urban best practice. Despite varying scales of intervention and diverse target users, these projects share a common thread: they serve as proactive contributions to the discussion on current and future urban challenges.

    Weird Space: workshops + exhibition

We are presenting three diverse and exciting workshops: Lesboanimitas, with nucbeade; Confluencia intergaláctica de subjetividades colectivas ociosas (C.I.S.C.O.), with Pablo Durango; and Sobremesa, with Cecilia Cameo + David Macho.

    This discussion aims to foster a constructive dialogue, featuring presentations from various guest speakers alongside students and the general public, to address current issues and future challenges.

    ARQ 100 Launch

    The launch of the 100th issue of ARQ magazine will take place on Friday, December 21, at 7:00 PM in the FADEU Auditorium. The event will feature commentary from Beatriz Bustos, Director of the Centro Cultural Palacio de la Moneda; Sebastián Gray, architect, columnist, and professor at the UC School of Architecture; and Cristóbal Molina, researcher and coordinator of the Architecture Department at the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Heritage.

    Light Art and Mapping Workshop

    This course explores the possibilities of light as an expressive and artistic medium and as a way to intervene in specific spaces. We will begin with the theory of light and optics, move on to the origins of projections and modern spectacle, illusionism, and artistic intervention, and conclude with projection and mapping techniques, examining the latest global developments in this field.

    Archathon Vitória Stone Fair

    Archathon serves as a platform for recent architecture and interior design graduates, where teams compete to complete a challenge: designing a space in under 24 hours using products from partner brands.

    Deadline extended for the 6th Docomomo Chile Seminar

    The VI Docomomo Chile Seminar: Heritage and Sustainability: From the City to the Territory, an event to be held in the city of Valdivia on November 14, 15, and 16, 2018, at the Isla Teja Campus of the Austral University of Chile, has extended its abstract submission deadline to June 25.

    BAQ2018: Social Habitat and Development Competition

    Since 1978, the Colegio de Arquitectos del Ecuador Provincial de Pichincha (CAE-P) has organized the Pan-American Biennial of Architecture of Quito (BAQ) every November of even-numbered years.
