The Romanian Order of Architects (OAR), with the support of OAR Bucharest Territorial Branch, together with the Contracting Authority – the 2nd District of the Municipality of Bucharest, are glad to announce the official launch of the "Colentina Lakes, 2nd District, Bucharest” International Design Competition.
Considering the extent and diversity of the Implementation area and taking into account the different design challenges, the Contracting Authority, together with OAR, decided to resort to the award of public procurement contracts by lots and decided to divide the implementation area of the competition into three lots as follows:

The historical local markets of San Lorenzo and Sant'Ambrogio in the centre of Florence, Italy, have been a meeting point for local people for decades; a privileged location from which a sense of community, belonging and sharing has grown. The structure-symbol for local residents and a major tourist attraction, they recently underwent a series of renovation works to update their image and strengthen relations with customers and retailers, with a view to preserving their identity and authenticity. 

United by blood and artistic ties, Roma Drumond, Pedro, and Antonio Tebyriçá—mother, father, and son—present their work in “TRIANGULAR,” which opens on June 6 at 6:00 PM. Their paintings and sculptures will occupy the Galeria Patrícia Costa, with the exhibition curated by Denise Mattar.

In pool design, one big challenge is to make sure that the pool blends in with the rest of the architecture. If it is being designed from scratch, the materials must meet the necessary design criteria, as well as the technical requirements of areas exposed to the elements and in direct contact with water.

These were the premises that Sebastián Arquitectos took into account in this project for a villa—Casa EA!—, using a single floor tile collection by Gres Aragón. Set in the midst of Litago nature reserve, at the foot of Mount Moncayo in Zaragoza (Spain), the villa blends in beautifully with its surroundings.

After exploring the relationship between architects and clients through the lens of psychoanalysis in Arquitetura no divã, Shirlei Zonis employs the same framework to address an even more sensitive issue: the bond with construction site workers. Although this subject is absent from architecture curricula, it remains a defining aspect of daily practice. Drawing on her field experience and a psychoanalytic perspective, the author shares the stories of these essential—yet often overlooked—partners, highlighting the challenges of this professional encounter and the cultural impasses that affect a group so emblematic of Brazilian society and its inherent inequalities.

Open House Milano returns for its 9th edition on the weekend of May 25 and 26. Camposaz 41:41 edition is hosted by the Proloco of Sagron Mis, a small mountain community in the heart of the Dolomites. A flat or low slope roof assembly consists of several components that need to work together efficiently and consistently to offer a long-term, sustainable solution. While the roofing membrane is often the top and therefore most visible layer, what lies under it has a significant impact on the overall roof performance. Choosing the adequate and most sustainable materials (and ensuring their proper installation) is what makes a roof stand the test of time and be ready for the challenges of the future.

We delved into how it influences design processes and workflows and what they think the technology’s impact means for the future of the profession.
