Now in its second edition, this event aims to highlight the work of women architects in shaping the built environment, their participation in creative markets, and their role as drivers of economies linked to design, architecture, and innovation.

August is approaching, and with it, our "Architecture Meetings" return.

For those unfamiliar, the idea behind these meetings is to discuss contemporary Brazilian architectural production, organized by theme. The conversation will feature professionals active in the field of architecture and will be moderated by an external guest or a member of the group formed by IABsp to curate this activity.

ESCOLA DA CIDADE OPEN COURSES – SECOND SEMESTER 2018

The course—organized into three monthly modules (April, May, and June), each consisting of four classes—will examine central issues in modern art history through the works of: Paul Cézanne, Aleksander Rodchenko, Hannes Meyer, and Le Corbusier (Module 1, April); Federico Fellini, Giuseppe Terragni, Arnold Schoenberg, and Rem Koolhaas (Module 2, May); Kazimir Malevich, Marguerite Duras, Louise Bourgeois, and Toyo Ito (Module 3, June). Modules may be taken individually or sequentially.

On the 14th, the IAB-RJ headquarters hosted the launch of the new season of courses for its continuing education program, IAB Compartilha. The event was attended by the program's 19 instructors, as well as students and professionals interested in the proposed topics. Building on the educational initiatives resumed in 2016, the 2019 edition offers a wide range of courses designed to share the expertise of professionals who are leaders in the various fields that make up the broad spectrum of architecture and urbanism. With three years of experience offering courses at its historic headquarters, IAB-RJ has solidified its position as a vital resource for those looking to deepen and enhance their knowledge and professional development—a necessity in this field.

The fourth edition of the International Urban Interventions Forum (FIIU) will bring together urban experts, policymakers, citizens, collectives, and international networks of activists interested in reclaiming public space and its use. Furthermore, this year, FIIU will host the 3rd Placemaking Latinoamérica meeting, a global movement that has been bringing together professionals and activists from Latin American countries for two years.

At this First Meeting on Infrastructure Management and Planning for State Universities, "How do we move forward together to build quality learning spaces?", we will share experiences focused on Educational Infrastructure Management, Institutional Infrastructure Planning, Design, Architecture, Innovation, Universal Accessibility, and Sustainability.

Escola da Cidade is now accepting applications until January 31 for its open courses. These courses offer the opportunity to delve into specific areas within the field of architecture and urbanism, covering the school's five disciplinary tracks: design, history, technology, project, and urbanism.

The School of Architecture at Universidad Don Vasco is celebrating its annual Architecture Week, which primarily consists of lectures by specialists in various branches of architecture and the development of a real-world project, for which four different proposals will be presented. In addition, the event includes exhibitions, competitions, workshops, and cultural and sports activities.

The Núcleo da Madeira, with the support of the Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP), will host the event "Innovative Ideas for the Timber Construction Chain" from June 10 to 12. The program features several lecture and debate series divided into five modules. The objective is to provide resources to accelerate the approval and acceptance processes for timber as a technologically advanced material.

Dynamics in the professional market have transformed how we work and consume; in this process, various professions have had to adapt to new technological trends. Architecture is no exception, and a new type of professional has had to adapt to these new consumption patterns. Office spaces have been redesigned, hierarchies have been flattened, and the creative process has been harmonized with this new reality.

Supported by Itaú Unibanco, the event will bring together representatives from the automotive sector, environmental organizations, and mobility programs.
