The Master's Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Oviedo, through its Transportation Engineering and Infrastructure department, is launching its fourth international ideas competition for students to solicit proposals for addressing issues related to transportation networks. The School of Architecture at the Creative Campus of Universidad Andrés Bello is opening a call for applications for the first edition of Remote Residencies. The inaugural "MA Awards 2022" seek to promote and highlight the work of contemporary women architects in Chile. To this end, the awards feature two categories: Emerging and Established. Both categories aim to identify and recognize architectural production in areas such as housing, public architecture, urbanism, landscape, and others. The awards seek to promote built works across Chile developed by women architects, thereby increasing the visibility of architecture within the country and showcasing its diversity.
In 2027, the Weissenhofsiedlung in Stuttgart will mark its 100th anniversary. The famous housing estate, originally consisting of 21 houses, was built for the 1927 Deutscher Werkbund International Exhibition under the artistic direction of Mies van der Rohe. SP Urbanismo, in partnership with the global network C40 Cities, has launched an international competition to select urban design projects for four underutilized public spaces in the city's central region. Open to architects, urban planners, and architecture and urban design firms from Brazil and abroad, the competition aims to gather innovative proposals to transform residual, underutilized road infrastructure into seating and leisure areas that are more inviting for pedestrians and the use of non-polluting transport, such as bicycles.
