Design Within Beach! 2019 Monterey Design Conference

The biennial Monterey Design Conference (MDC 2019) celebrates its 25th gathering of leading global design figures along the Northern California coast, October 25-27, 2019. Organized the American Institute of Architects (AIA) California, this confab differs from most conferences because attendees can engage in casual conversations with presenters in a relaxed, oceanside setting—mingling over meals, at receptions, or along the beach. The weekend event is held at Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove, CA, the wooded retreat that was designed by 2014 AIA Gold Medal winner Julia Morgan, FAIA.

MDC 2015 is headlined by an impressive panel of internationally acclaimed architects whose insights will spark your creative energy and rekindle your passion for design. Frank Barkow and Regine Leibinger of Barkow Leibinger, Junya Ishigami of Junya Ishigami + Associates, Carme Pinós of Estudio Carme Pinós and Bernard Tschumi of Bernard Tschumi Architects are set to join you in Monterey alongside renown U.S. architects such as Clive Wilkinson, FAIA of Clive Wilkinson architects and Rand Elliott of Elliott + Associates Architects. AIACC 2013 Monterey Design Conference

Founded in 1979, the Monterey Design conference, which is presented by AIACC (California Council), has become the “Renaissance Weekend” for architects. Held in Pacific Grove at the historic Asilomar Conference Grounds founded in 1913, it has been praised as the most prestigious and best attended architectural design conference in the United States. This year, the conference will take place September 27-29 and all are invited to watch, think, interact, learn and recharge your creative energies with more than 700 of California’s best-known architects.
