Schindler’s PORT destination-control system was installed in the Capital Bank Plaza, a 14-story mid-century office tower designed by Emery Roth in 1964, located in downtown Raleigh, USA.
Capital Bank Plaza is a multi-tenant commercial building in the heart of Raleigh’s business district. Facing increasing tenant expectations, the building owner sought a modernization that could refresh outdated elevator service while preserving the original structure and improving vertical transportation efficiency for a diverse occupancy.
Schindler implemented PORT throughout the lobby, linking all elevators to touch-screen terminals that intelligently batch passengers by destination. The upgrade was carried out in phases to ensure continuous elevator access. PORT’s traffic optimization significantly reduced congestion and wait times, while offering tenants enhanced control and access options.
