Hedafor, a group company associated with Deforche Construction Group, collaborates with driven horticulturists, growers, and forward-thinking researchers in pursuit of optimal horticulture, botanical exploration, and plant research environments. Hedafor offers glass structure solutions for universities and private research centers. Their experience in construction and knowledge of the requirements for research centers is one of the reasons their solutions are used globally. The structures are built to meet the highest standards, and strictest requirements in terms of air tightness, safety, quarantine, and hygiene. The control systems are designed to suit each type of activity. Built examples include the Inagro Agrotopia Research Center and the ILVO Research Center
Climate Management of Climate Control
Hedafor has a comprehensive array of climate management programs available for controlling the climate in research greenhouses, botanical greenhouses, and various projects. The options range from straightforward and user-friendly climate control programs to advanced computer systems suitable for the most demanding projects.
Electricity
Hedafor can design and install the complete electrical installation for any project. This includes the wiring of all electrical components essential for greenhouse operation, such as lighting, power points, pump groups, and other elements. Collaborating with trusted long-term partners, the assembly of electrical components ensures an efficient and reliable technical installation.
Screening
Screening in greenhouse construction ensures considerable energy savings and can also have shading or even a blackout effect. For horizontal or tunnel screens, Hedafor works with pull-wire or push/pull systems. For vertical screen installations, Hedafor opts for twin rolling or rolling screens. The installation is done on both the inside and the outside, using only our own team or regular subcontractors.
Insect Netting
To protect crops against outside pests or to keep biological control insects and pollinators inside, one can use insect netting. With it, there is less dependency on plant protection products. In research greenhouses, insect netting has the additional advantage of ensuring that research will not be influenced by insects and birds. It can be fitted to both new projects and existing greenhouses.
HVAC
A high-performance heating installation keeps the indoor climate of the greenhouse fully controllable. A team of engineers, project managers, and installers can provide a suitable solution for each project. Heat pumps, gas, and biomass boilers are installed as heat sources. For heat distribution, volume heating, underfloor heating, ventilation ducts, and air heaters are employed. Depending on the location and the crop in the greenhouse, adiabatic or active cooling may also be required. Tailor-made heating and cooling solutions are provided.
Water
Irrigation systems are designed to suit the particular crop, customer, and plant, whether the project is a cultivation greenhouse with one climate and one culture or a research greenhouse with multiple crops and cultivation systems. From lettuce in a vertical culture to gutter-grown tomatoes, the cultivation and irrigation systems are taken care of in turnkey solutions.
High-Pressure Fogging System
High-pressure fogging is employed for both air humidification and cooling. Atomizing water at over 100 bar ensures that no water falls on the crop. The immediate evaporation of water increases the moisture content and cools the air adiabatically. The cooling effect, combined with screening and open vents, ensures the maintenance of the indoor climate even on hot days.
