The Edgar collection of sofas, designed for Longhi by Giuseppe Viganò, reintroduces the metal tube—a modernist element that has been historically present—and reinterprets it as a key element in the collection. Softened by a slight curvature, the metal tube transforms into an elegant line that gracefully envelops the objects and padded cushions. These cushions possess their own essential lines and lightweight, generously-sized proportions.
Materials and Finishes
The Edgar collection is characterized by a padded structure with external armrests made of tubular metal, featuring a wrap-around form. These armrests are partially covered in a strip of Renova, a particular type of sustainable anti-bacterial recycled leather. The Renova strip can either match or contrast with the color of the main sofa upholstery. Additionally, a metal belt, perfectly covered in this new material, is placed at the base of the sofa. The sofa is supported by robust metal feet, which are also covered in Renova and resemble natural full-grain leather.
The remaining structure is crafted from wood and covered in high-density polyurethane foam. The seat cushions are made of triple-density polyurethane foam, with a soft quilted cover filled with certified sterilized goose down. The backrest cushions are also filled with certified sterilized goose down.

The modular elements are assembled using a quick-connect foot made of tubular metal, painted in a bronze finish and partially covered in Renova. The compositions are complemented by utility shelves available in wood or marble, which can be selected from the catalog. An elegant tray covered in leather or Cuoio Renova can be requested as well. It's important to note that due to the special manufacturing process, the upholstery on the structure is not removable. However, the upholstery on the seat cushions can be removed.
