Dome Glass Covering in Smart Plaza Shopping Center | AESTECH LDT

Aestech manufactures insulated glass units with higher stiffness developed according to its patents. Its solutions allow the company to bring a project to life just as it was envisioned. Frameless glazing facade systems from Aestech were used in the Smart Plaza Polytech, a shopping center in Kyiv, Ukraine.

For the unique dome-shaped roof of the Smart Plaza Polytech, triangular-shaped glass panels with electric heating were used. The size of each isosceles-triangular glass panel is 3 meters at the base and 2 meters in height, making it one of the largest in its class.

Located at a height of 7 meters from the floor level, the glass panels are arranged in a row without a typical aluminum system and angled to ensure proper water drainage. They can withstand snow loads and their weight and are fastened only on two sides. The structure fits perfectly into the interior of the object, which allows it to fill the "well" with sunlight and visually enlarge the space on the floor.
