In 2016 Rodeca'spolycarbonate panels were used for the facade of the Diamant School in Amersfoort. For this project, MTB Architects chose the 60mm panel-type in clear color with profiles from Rodeca.
The design is distinctive in that it features a school without classrooms. The units for 3 teachers and a maximum of 75 pupils are designed as meandering spaces with two glass concentration/presentation rooms between them. An elevated playroom with a studio above it in the middle of the school gives an interesting spatial effect with views through their split-level. The transparency of Rodeca's product makes sure the children receive optimal daylight.
Rodecapanels as facadeelements have a variety of advantages. They are lightweight, have high thermal insulation and a wide color choice. There is also the possibility to upgrade a facade by placing an LED-light behind it or by printing directly on the polycarbonate.
