Kurula Varkey Design Forum, Call for Entries is NOW OPEN
The Kurula Varkey Design Forum is an international student led forum organised at CEPT University, India. Since its inception in 2000, the forum has strived to critically question the discipline of architecture and its manifestations at the given time through student projects as take-off points. We invite undergraduate student projects from over 100 architecture schools across South Asia, of which a few are selected as generators of the discourse. Over the years, KVDF has had panelists like B.V. Doshi, Juhani Pallasmaa, Suhasini Ayer, Tatiana Bilbao, Gautam Bhan, Kevin Low, Jeremy Till, and more.

In anticipation of the 2021 Conscious Cities Festival this October, we are delighted to announce an open call for submissions for the yearly Conscious Cities Anthology showcasing the diverse and impactful thinking by Conscious Cities practitioners. We are soliciting submissions from festival participants, industry professionals, the general public, and anyone who feels their pieces fit the details below. The Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF) has issued a call for nominations for Landslide, the foundation’s annual thematic report about threatened and at-risk landscapes. "Landslide 2021: Race and Space" will focus on long neglected and largely unknown cultural landscapes associated with African Americans and others. The report will be accompanied by a complementary online exhibition will include newly commissioned photographs and historical images, site plans, other archival materials and video interviews. Projections, the biennial peer-reviewed Journal of the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning, is now accepting abstracts for Projections 16, "Measuring the City: The Power of Urban Metrics", to be published Fall 2022. The TRANSFER Architecture Video Award is an independent award, launched in 2019, to recognise the most creative and innovative short films in the field of architecture, city or landscape worldwide. The 2019 edition of the Award attracted the participation of over 300 videos from more than 50 countries. Video is becoming increasingly instrumental in analysing architecture and the human environment, and is directly related to the digital networks that underpin contemporary communication. With the TRANSFER Architecture Video Award, we aim to highlight the contributions that best represent new means of knowledge and analysis of architecture using video as a support.
