Idealism and materialism, those two antagonistic philosophical visions, are constantly perceived in architecture. Juan Gris said that a nail was made with the idea of a nail, while Braque thought that a nail was made with iron.
Thought and design action have been, for us, one and the same: the matter of projects. We agree with the classical idea that the poetic is "the made that makes, the built that builds." Praxis makes architecture the union of theory and practice, understanding it as a praxis-process. Designing is the most significant act of architectural praxis, as it is the wise way of building that remains self-referential to the project's own essence. We consider this an occasion for debate and continuous reasoning—something more complex and dense in its intellectual and cultural formation than the mere astute or clever resolution of a problem.
