Concéntrico 05 launches open calls for a pavilion and two interventions in 2019

The fifth edition of Concéntrico, the international architecture and design festival in Logroño, Spain, will invite reflection on the urban environment and the city through architecture and design proposals in various formats.

The upcoming edition will take place from April 26 to May 1, 2019. In addition to this announcement, the festival has opened calls for three competitions for participation at three of the festival's sites.

Competition opens for the architectural design of the Arquia/Próxima Festival

The Arquia Foundation is launching this competition to design the festival's architecture (scenography and/or ephemeral installation) to host the activities outlined in the program for the VI arquia/próxima Festival: RELEVANT PRACTICES. The competition encompasses both the design and the subsequent construction and dismantling by the winning individual or team.

AsBEA-PR hosts the Agisa Todeschini Ideas Competition

AsBEA-PR has just launched the Agisa Todeschini Ideas Competition, open to architects, urban planners, and students throughout Brazil. The goal is to award the best design for a habitable module to be donated to the Lar Infantil Sol Amigo, an organization in Curitiba, Paraná, that supports vulnerable children.

Call for Entries: Competition for the Redevelopment of the Monumental Axis of Maringá

Registration is open until October 3 for the National Public Competition for the Preliminary Study for the Requalification of the Public Space of the Monumental Axis of Maringá. Project submissions are due by October 26.

FAU UFJF Competition

The Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), in the exercise of its authority, announces the opening of a PUBLIC COMPETITION for the complete Basic Architecture and Urbanism Project and its complementary preliminary designs for the construction of the architectural complex intended for the headquarters of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (FAU-UFJF). This competition will be held in two stages. Both stages will follow the conditions established in the official call for entries, as follows:

National competition for the urban renewal of the central area of Conde, Paraíba

The Municipality of Conde (on the South Coast of Paraíba), a city of 25,000 inhabitants integrated into the metropolitan region of the capital, João Pessoa, launched its first National Competition for Urbanism and Architecture this Thursday afternoon (9). The competition seeks a design for the requalification of the city's central area, which serves as the hub of the region's urban life and hosts key public facilities.

The Institute of Architects of Brazil (IAB) invites architecture and urban planning professionals across the country to participate in a public call seeking to select specialized technical consultancy to analyze and improve development strategies for urban mobility projects—specifically public transit corridors and active transport modes—and their relationship with public spaces along these routes in the city of Aracaju, Sergipe. The goal is to foster accessible routes for early childhood, ensure support for lingering in squares and parks, facilitate the use of urban furniture, and promote activities aimed at children aged 0 to 6.

National Competition for Preliminary Architectural Design - Casa Lacerda Museum Annex

Casa Lacerda is a colonial-style building located in the Historic Center of Lapa. It is individually listed by IPHAN and the Paraná Cultural Heritage Coordination and is situated within an urban area that is also protected at both the federal and state levels. Donated to IPHAN in the 1980s, the house now functions as a museum that replicates a typical Lapa residence, while also serving as a "Heritage House" (Casa do Patrimônio) that hosts temporary exhibitions, courses, and activities for the local community.
