This Thursday, March 27, Torno Colab will host the launch of the book Enjundia, written by Chilean architect Nicolás Valencia and published by dostercios editorial in Chile.

Propuesta Decente is a series of conversations among architects. Organized by ASN/nOISE, the series held ten consecutive, successful editions between 2011 and 2020, featuring the presence and contributions of the most interesting and influential figures in Argentine and Latin American architecture.

In Cycle 6.0, we return to our roots and our surroundings, exploring how distinguished architects have managed to not only honor the northern region but also implement strategies to protect and preserve it.

The Growarq Week is an event dedicated to architects, engineers, designers, and students looking to revolutionize their design process through a methodology that combines two software programs: Revit and Lumion. The event will take place from April 7 to 10, starting at 7:00 PM each day, and will be held entirely online.

Território Liberdade Workshop - Erasures and Migrations

Registration is now open for the Território Liberdade workshop, a research-based activity organized by the cultural association Goma Oficina, taking place in downtown São Paulo throughout April and May 2025. The workshop will introduce a methodology for engaging with the Liberdade neighborhood and its surroundings, exploring the intersections of photography, cartography, and the historical erasures caused by structural racism.

Galeria Contempo Debuts at SP-Arte

This work is designed to provide educators with didactic strategies applied in the first design studio of an architecture program: Architecture Studio 1 (PA 1).

The São Paulo State Government, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, presents the exhibition “Artacho Jurado in the City’s Design” at the Galeria da Cidade. The exhibition, which focuses on the self-taught architect who designed and built landmarks of modern São Paulo such as the Bretagne, Cinderela, and Louvre buildings, opens to the public on Saturday, September 4—the date marking the 114th anniversary of his birth. Registration is now open for the 2022 admissions process for the undergraduate program in Architecture and Urbanism at Escola da Cidade. Evaluations and interviews will take place in December, aiming to assess the potential of prospective students through their general knowledge, specific skills, and their ability to analyze, synthesize, and construct arguments.

Registration is now open for Brazil's largest design competition, held this time in partnership with Libcorp Incorporadora.

The São Paulo Design Weekend, better known as DW!, brings together IED professionals and world-renowned designers from October 3 to 10. The central theme of the IED panels at the 10th edition of DW! is "Images and Data." This topic is also part of the 5th edition of the IED Graphic Interaction Festival, held within the event during the GIF Talks.

The Insper Arq.Futuro Cities Laboratory, through its City and Regulation Center, is hosting the first webinar series, "Real Estate Production and Architectural Heritage," throughout October. The series features representatives from various involved sectors and presents emblematic case studies that highlight concrete proposals for bridging different perspectives on urban space occupation.

On October 7 (Thursday) at 7:00 PM, {CURA} will host the fifth interview with jurors from the 6th {CURA} Award, introducing the fifth jury member to participants: Marcelo Ferraz. The conversation is intended to serve as supplementary material for those participating in the competition. This time, Francesco Perrotta-Bosch, who is also a jury member, will moderate the discussion, representing our partner, Todavia publishing house.

IED (Istituto Europeo di Design)’s participation in DW! (São Paulo Design Week) includes an in-person event on Friday, October 8, at 2:00 PM. At the invitation of ZIV Gallery—located in Beco do Batman, a São Paulo landmark known for its walls covered in colorful street art and graffiti—urban artist Caio Ramires will perform a live painting session, which will subsequently be exhibited at IED. The event is free, will feature live music, and is limited to 50 attendees.

The Museu do Pontal in Rio de Janeiro, an international reference for Brazilian folk art with over nine thousand works by 300 artists—the largest collection of its kind and recognized for its relevance by UNESCO—inaugurated its new headquarters in Barra da Tijuca on October 9, 2021. With this, the city gains a new and important art and culture facility. This inauguration is the result of a major collective collaboration involving over a thousand people and companies such as BNDES, Instituto Cultural Vale, and Itaú Cultural, among others, through the Federal Government's Culture Incentive Law. Furthermore, it was made possible through the special support of IBRAM (Brazilian Institute of Museums) and the City of Rio de Janeiro.
