Join our upcoming annual edition of "modern conversations", where we examine spaces of pedagogy to analyze the shifting terrains of educational practices, institutions, and environments that influence the creation and dissemination of knowledge. This inquiry prompts us to consider: where does learning occur, both historically and in the contemporary world? What is the connection between modernity and education? In what ways has modernity transformed educational spaces? When did education adopt a formal structure, and how was this reflected spatially? How have socio-political dynamics shaped these environments? Most crucially, why is it critical to examine the spaces where education happens?
The river valley, which flows for 14 kilometers within the city limits, is set to take on a completely new look.

The goal of the competition is to obtain a high-quality urban planning, landscape, and architectural concept for the Kłodnica River valley within the city limits of Gliwice. We are seeking visionary solutions that will transform the riverside corridor into a vibrant, multifunctional public space, integrate urban green spaces into a cohesive natural system, create safe walking and biking routes, and strengthen the city’s resilience to climate change.

The Oris Day architectural symposium takes place on Sunday, 8 November 2026, in Zagreb, at the Mozaik Event Centre. The central programme will bring together this year's Pritzker Prize laureate Smiljan Radić Clarke and Swiss architect Christian Kerez. The audience will have the opportunity to follow their conversation live – a dialogue between two distinguished architects about architecture, the creative process and contemporary challenges facing the profession. In addition to this conversation, three successful Croatian architectural practices featured in the New Perspectives exhibition, which marked the 11th anniversary of Oris House of Architecture, will also give lectures: NEKOLIKO, Krešimir Damjanović and SKUP-A. The conversation and lectures will be moderated by Mia Roth Čerina, Vedran Mimica, Maroje Mrduljaš and Dinko Peračić.

The Steel Architectural Awards ASEAN 2026, presented by BlueScope, has announced the 12 finalist projects selected to advance to the ASEAN-level appraisal. Representing outstanding achievements in architecture across Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, the finalists were selected through the Country Awards programs and now move forward to regional evaluation by an international judging panel.
Now in its second ASEAN edition, the program celebrates architectural projects that demonstrate excellence in design, innovation, sustainability, and the creative application of coated steel solutions. Under the 2026 theme, "Shaping Resilient Futures: Timeless Design with Coated Steel," the Awards highlight projects that respond meaningfully to their context while delivering enduring value for future generations.

Buildner is pleased to announce the results of its Architect's Chair Competition Edition 5, the fifth edition of the annual international competition inviting architects and designers worldwide to create a signature chair that reflects their individual design philosophy and vision.
Chair design exemplifies the interdisciplinary nature of architecture, bringing questions of proportion, structure, material, ergonomics, and craftsmanship together at the scale of a single object. This year's submissions explored a broad range of approaches, from highly minimal, structurally efficient solutions to designs rooted in cultural references, material experimentation, and new fabrication methods.

Brutalist Asia is the first major survey of Brutalist architecture across the entire Asian continent. Spanning twenty-eight countries, from Japan to Lebanon, the book combines architectural history, photography and regional scholarship to explore how architects across Asia reinterpreted the architectural language of Brutalism in response to local climates, materials, cultures and political conditions.
