When Facebook changed its name to Meta, millions of people began wondering, "What is the metaverse?"

Put simply, it's a virtual space where people can collaborate with one another and interact with places and things. It began gaining popularity amid the waves of COVID-19, meeting a need as the pandemic drew on. Today, it looks like the metaverse is set to become business as usual.

Expected to grow to USD 426.9 billion by 2027, the metaverse is a lucrative platform for brands to develop immersive experiences for consumers. Gaming companies such as Epic Games and Roblox have already hosted virtual events, and clothing retail giants Gucci and Nike have launched interactive experiences of their own.

Open Call: Competition for the Development of the Conceptual Architectural Design of the Promenade in the "Budva Bay", Part of the Budva-Bečići Promenade, Phase I

The competition task covers the part of the Municipality of Budva, which represents the center of cultural, entertainment and informative events. The proposal for the competition deals with four natural and heritage environments: the water area, the beach, the green area and the promenade.
For the Competition for the development of a conceptual urban and architectural design for the promenade in the "Budva Bay" part of the Budva-Bečići promenade, phase I, participants are being asked to design a site plan for the development of a new identity for the city of Budva.
It is necessary to provide a basis for the creation of collective awareness at two levels. At the primary level, it is the creation of collective awareness among the citizens of Budva as permanent users of the space and their treatment of the environment in which they find themselves. At a secondary level, it is the image that the city sends to the world and to tourists as temporary and occasional users of the space.
It is of utmost importance to derive inspiration from vast cultural heritage of Old town of Budva and its 2500 years old history and future urban development.
Special attention should be paid to the dispersion of facilities covered with the proposal for competition, with an emphasis on the linear flow of user movement and intersection with lateral directions from the hinterland and contact zones. It is necessary to radically change the mode of use of the coastal strip of land with an emphasis on the introduction of public areas for communication, recreation and outdoor events.
The competition is open to all. No professional qualification is required. Design proposals can be developed individually or by teams.

Call for Proposals for Mobility & City

Transportation infrastructure like flyovers, elevated expressways, bridges, highways are built to perform a certain role in a city. But in the post construction phase, as they are put into an already existing system of urban networks, the under-infrastructure space and infra elements continue to evolve into interesting usages by common people.
These public spaces beneath active elevated road and rail beds remain at best largely underused, and at worst dark and dusty corridors of neglect. The reality of the modern infrastructural landscape is as much geopolitical as it is technical. Transportation infrastructure continues being utilized as an urban element, beyond their intended function in many cases.
