La Fondazione NY Inaugural Youth Board Benefit

La Fondazione's Youth Board is proud to announce its inaugural Youth Board Benefit, an event that will raise awareness for La Fondazione NY’s mission as well as honor the work of emerging Italian artist Davide Balliano.

Balliano was selected by a panel of leaders in the art community and will be honored at the event with the Distinguished Young Artist Award for his contribution to the arts. Over the course of the evening, guests will have the opportunity to interact with the artist and a selection of a few of his pieces, mingle with other arts enthusiasts, and enjoy Italian snacks and beverages.
You can find more information on La Fondazione NY website at lafondazioneny.org or on social media (Facebook: LFNY – La Fondazione NY, Twitter: @LaFondazioneNY, Instagram: @LaFondazioneNY). Ticket can be purchased here.

About Davide Balliano:
Drawing references from architecture, nature, monuments and icons, Balliano’s work is the product of an ongoing investigation into the relationship between the individual and the macrocosm. Using geometry as a tool of translation, his paintings and sculptures take their form through a process defined by structure, repetition and reduction. For Balliano, the act of removing all excess offers the possibility of reaching an equilibrium between presence and absence where the object can exist in its most essential state.

Balliano was born in Turin in 1983 and currently lives and works in New York. Recent solo exhibitions include Luce Gallery, Turin (2015), Timothy Taylor, London (2015), Room East, New York (2014), Galerie Rolando Anselmi, Berlin and Michel Rein Gallery, Paris (both 2013). His work has been included in group exhibitions at David Zwirner Gallery, New York (2015), Sean Kelly Gallery, New York (2010 and 2014), Madre Museum, Naples (2012), the Quadrilateral Biennial in Rijeka, Croatia (2011), The Watermill Centre, New York (2009 and 2011), MoMA PS1, New York, Espai d’Art Contemporani de Castelló, Castellón (all 2010). His work is represented by Luce Gallery, Italy.

About La Fondazione NY:
La Fondazione NY is a nonprofit charitable organization that supports upcoming artists and human scientists in Italy and the US by providing access to training opportunities and international exposure through the organization of cultural events.
