Intention of the Design.

1.Architecture sensitive to users' needs: Even though I do not deny that the abstraction and purity pursued by modernism, and their aesthetic inspiration are such huge motives, I was very careful not to excessively express.  Expecting the human traffic and also considering the amount of light, I was very worried about if it would be too cold or hot.

-The chapel with soft and proper light coming in through the gap of bricks even without turning on a lamp

-The cozy rooftop garden just like inside as it is covered with frames

-The cafe & restaurant in the lower part, directly connecting to the city and roads

-Other rooms planned as multipurpose spaces

This urban medium-sized church is fully containing various functions.

2.Elevation composition showing a sense of depth. Such buildings with elevation showing a sense of depth give an abundant 3D feeling that cannot be found from sleeky curtain-wall buildings.  The lattice frame shown in the Western church buildings gives a sense of depth by containing its functions as awning and the edge of rooftop garden.

3.Taking out.  The minimum interior could be the best interior.  The decoration with all kinds of shape, color, and pattern just tire our eyes out and also disturbs our mind.  One side is great with one feeling.  I wanted the calm mono-tone background. I hoped to see more closely as it is empty for more richness.

Materials & Details:

The main materials of inside and outside are the exposed concrete finish and bricks.

I like the pure feeling of the exposed concrete finish without adding or painting over, just like the naked body of a muscular young man.

Getting out of the stereotype about a brick house with a sharp roof covered with roof tiles, bricks can go well with the abstract form and minimal shape.  Feeling the solidity, permanence, and alive sense of touch, diverse expressions can be done in accordance with the construction method even for reasonable price.

When it is used together with the exposed concrete finish, the virtue of adding warmness to the urban and cold feeling of the exposed concrete finish can be found.
