A transformation of an existing city park, the project is conceived as a sequence of cultural programs - an “urban archipelago” - connected by a “naturalistic promenade” of pathways and landscape within a preserved forested area.

One of the proposal’s goals is to establish an alliance between architecture and nature. All existing trees are preserved and incorporated into the design, while the center’s design works with the landscape to maximize energy performance through an number of passive design strategies. The integration of photovoltaics, wastewater management, the use of recycled materials and the diversification of green spaces are all employed to enhance the bond between nature and architecture.
